What made you pursue a career in design?
I knew I always wanted to work in
a creative field, as I loved drawing and music, this led me doing
an art foundation course where I stumbled upon fashion and it
snowballed from there, going to St Martins School of Art and
beyond!
Which part of your job do
you enjoy the most?
The idea and the execution are
some of the most favourite aspects of my job, the fact that you can
have an idea in the morning and by the end of the day it can be
real in 3D never ceases to inspire and amaze me, also the people I
work with.
Do you have a favourite
era of style?
Pretty much all era's have some
element that inspires me, medieval textiles, 60's street
photography, 50's couture, 70's flamboyance so I really cherry-pick
from elements of each era rather than one specific as a
favourite.
What is your personal
design style?
My personal design style I think
is modern British with a playful flamboyance rooted in quality and
craftsmanship.
Where do you seek
inspiration?
As a designer you develop areas
of research that you go back to help develop and inform your
creative vocabulary, my go-to return areas are the arts, film,
ballet, music mixed with nature and a dash of technology
